Family Disaster Plan
One of the things you won't find on the internet is how to actually build a personal disaster plan. You will find a lot
of web sites that tell you to put one together but they stop short when it comes to telling you how to do it. That's because
so few disaster specialists deal in the personal disaster world and most survival web sites don't deal in documenting the survival
planning process. We do both. Our plan is the most comprehensive and robust personal disaster plan on the web.
Sadly, we have found some sites willing to sell you the information. We don't think your safety should be for sale. That's why ours is free.
It doesn't get much better than that. By the way, if you happen to find our plan for sale some place, please let us know
so we can take appropriate action.
We will tell you up front that the plan template is very large...60 pages...but don't let that scare you. We built the plan with
everyone in mind so some of what is contained in the plan may not apply to you. If that's the case, you can just delete that
information. It covers the ten (10) categories we discussed in the previous section and the template is built so you can
just plug in information (We even tell you what to plug in). It comes with section by section instructions that contain a lot
of suggestions and helpful tips that could make a big difference in surviving whatever comes along.
You need not be concerned about building a complete kit in a short amount of time. You can begin with the first section of
the plan and work your way through it as time and finances permit. The important thing is to get started as soon as possible
and make a concerted effort to complete the entire plan. The longer you delay the more likely it is that you will be faced
with a disaster and not be prepared.
In addition to the plan template, we also offer three supplements. The first is an Individual Assessment form, the second is
an assessment form for your home, and the third is a Monthly Vehicle Checklist. All three documents are contained within the
plan template but we have provided them here as separate documents for your convenience.
We suggest you read through the plan so you understand what it entails then go back and start the planning process.
The instructions are in hidden text. When you are ready to view them go to:
TOOLS at the top of the MS Word tool bar.
Click on OPTIONS
Click on the VIEW tab.
In the FORMATTING MARKS section (in blue text) check the Hidden Text box and the instructions will appear.
To turn them off, simply go through the same steps and uncheck Hidden Text.
