The Shakuru™ fire starting kit contains high quality gear that can help you start a fire in virtually any environment and it's a Safe Zone exclusive!

We started with a heavy plastic, military surplus, water resistant case that's tough as nails. It boasts a rugged nylon strap that keeps the lid safely secured to the base so you can't lose it. It also has a heavy duty steel fastener that will give you years of use. The Shakuru™ can be stored in a cargo pocket, fastened to a belt loop or to the outside of your pack. If you drop it in the lake, don't fret, it floats!

Inside the case are some of the best fire starters in the business. Plenty of gear to get a fire going when you need it.

  1. One (1) Doan Magnesium Fire Starter. Doan invented the magnesium fire starter and they have a solid reputation for quality that spans decades. 5400°F. Yeah, that's hot!
  2. One (1) Esbit fuel tab. No smoke and no sparks. This tab will burn for approximately 13 minutes at 1400°F. You can extinguish it and use it again or just shave some to use as a fire starter.
  3. One (1) FireFixins Fire Starter. Waxed jute string and a piece of fatwood. All natural, all ready to go.
  4. An orange matchbox that is water proof, holds 25 strike anywhere matches (not included)†, and has a striker plate on the bottom.
